St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Reddish

Rachel McElhone

I have been a secondary school teacher for 25 years, with the last 24 of them spent teaching in Salford diocese schools in East Manchester. I am a practising Roman Catholic and have been an active member of our parish community for a number of years. I currently hold the post of joint president of St Joseph's UCM, which provides a support network for local mothers and families, as well as fundraising for the parish and local charities.

I became a foundation governor in September 2019. I am a member of the Teaching and Learning committee as well as being a named governor for SEND and LAC. Both of my sons attended St Joseph's, and I am committed to giving our young people the very best opportunities that education can offer. As the parent of children with disabilities, I am passionate about ensuring all pupils receive the very best education and that their needs are fully met. I look forward to working closely with the rest of the governing body, the staff at St Joseph's and the parent body to make sure St Joseph's is an outstanding school.
